Director’s Message
Ahoy Pirate Family!
It is indeed an honor and privilege to return to the “Pirate Ship” as the new Director for the 2024-2025 school year! Here at Robert Morgan Educational Center & Technical College, it is indeed, “The Dawn of a New Day!” We have declared this year to be one full of great accomplishments, monumental victories and overwhelming successes! With the dynamic faculty, staff, students and community partners, it’s not hard for us to accomplish together.
As we embark on the new school year, we are continuing to focus on creating solid career pathways for our students by offering Adult General Education (AGE) courses such as English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Adult Basic Education (ABE) and GED. We also have various Career & Technical Education (CTE) courses which will allow students to complete a selected program, sit for the state industry certification exam and become gainfully employed. Robert Morgan Educational Center & Technical College will further roll out the state initiative, Integrated Education & Training (IET) which allows students in the AGE program to participate in a CTE program concurrently with support to complete the program at an accelerated pace. We will also expand our Dual Enrollment programs by partnering with local high schools to offer CTE programs to secondary students. These offerings will allow secondary students the possibility to graduate high school with an industry certification.
Embarking on this new year, we are all to challenge ourselves to expand our capacity for Greater! We will further instill in our students that the decisions they make today has a direct impact on their future. In addition to the academics of the students, we will focus on the “whole” student, by continuing to provide various resources to better prepare them for the industry of their desire. Our Community Liaison Specialist will be instrumental in facilitating monthly workshops with outside agencies that will better expose our students to the endless possibilities available to them, such as Financial Literacy, Successful Job Interviewing 101, and the list goes on.
In closing, every experience we provide our students will catapult them into becoming self-sufficient and career ready! We believe that this year, we will accomplish more, experience more and impact more! Truly, it is, “The Day of a New Day!” #PiratePride
